Col des Chavannes
One of the coolest passes in the upper valley, right between La Thuile and Courmayeur. You start in La Thuile but can catch a shuttle from Courmayeur to the start of the dirt road. After about a 2-hour climb, you’ll hit Col des Chavannes at 2600 meters. The descent is epic—natural, technical, and steep—down to Val Veny. You can grab a tasty lunch at the Elisabetta Hut before heading back to Courmayeur on easier trails and dirt roads. Perfect if you’re after a wild, adventurous ride off the beaten path, surrounded by pristine nature. Best for experienced riders in great shape.

Col Fetita
Located above La Salle, Col Fetita is one of the most spectacular passes in the upper valley. Starting from Courmayeur with a shuttle service, we’ll get close to the climb and tackle about 1000 meters of elevation gain, followed by a short portage. The descent is on an epic 1700-meter single track, featuring natural trails and a historic mule path down to La Salle. If you’re on a non-assisted MTB, you can cut the climbing elevation to 500 meters. This route is perfect for those seeking a wild and authentic adventure, far from the usual trails and immersed in pristine nature. Recommended for experienced riders in great shape.
